The new film trilogy for Eureka Seven kicked off its first installment in Japan back on September 16th, 2017 and the home video releases are starting their scheduling run. Bandai Visual has set their plans for the first film with a scheduled February 23rd, 2018 release that will have three editions, none of which list English subtitles since it’s gotten picked up for wide international release by various distributors. A regular edition DVD is priced at 6,000 yen, a regular edition Blu-ray at 7,000 yen, and a limited edition Blu-ray at 10,000 yen.

The project sees Tomoki Kyouda returning as the general director working with hands-on director Hisatoshi Shimizu working off of the screenplays by Dai Sato. Kenichi Yoshida is on board as the character designer with Bones once again producing the animation for it.

Plot Concept: Ten years ago, the major earth-shaking “First Summer of Love” event occurred. Renton, who lost his father during the event, now attends the army school of the United Federation of Predgio Towers located in the border town of Bellforest. Because his late father is still praised, Renton feels something is lacking as he continues with his ordinary, boring days. Then one day, Nirvash, the world’s oldest LFO, appears in front of him and a girl named Eureka emerges from the cockpit. This was the beginning of the future of humans and Scub Coral, another intelligent lifeform.

Was this encounter all just a coincidence? Or was it fate? Where will Renton and Eureka’s journey end?
