udon-no-kuni-ending-cdTo promote the recent November 11th, 2016 CD release from the fall anime property Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari, VAP has now put together a streaming version of the ending sequence from the show. The ending sequence is the song “Sweet Darwin” by GOODWARP and while the video isn’t a clean on since it has the advertising on it, it does give you a good sense of some of the tone and atmosphere of the show. The Cd is priced at 1,500 yen and comes with a bonus download of the music video and has the four songs included on it.

The series was directed by Yoshihide Ibata with series composition from Natsuki Takahashi and character designs from Eriko Itou. Liden Films served as the production company.

The Japanese cast includes Yuuichi Nakamura as Souta Tawara, Shiho Kokido as Poco, Tomokazu Sugita as Shinobu Nakajima, Mai Nakahara as Rinko Oishi and Jun Fukuyama as Shunsuke Fujiyama.

The adaptation brings the manga from Nodoka Shinomaru to life that began in 2012 and has six volumes released so far as serialized in Comic@Bunch magazine.

Plot concept: Souta Tawara is a web designer working in Tokyo. When he visits his family’s Udon place in his hometown Kagawa Prefecture, he discovers a young boy. Upon confronting the boy, Souta soon learns his secret and decides to quit his job in order to take care of the boy, Poko. The daily adventures of the two slowly enfold as Poco energetically navigates his way through Kagawa, the “Udon Kingdom,” along with Souta.
