The new season of Garo: Moon of Crimson is scheduled for an October 10th, 2015 debut in Japan and while FUNimation has laid out their plans for a number of pickups, they haven’t listed this one on their site though they simulcast the first season. Often we don’t get the nod for shows until just before the premiere date, but FUNimation has confirmed via Twitter that they will be simulcasting this series, but don’t have anything formal to say on their blog about it yet.
Animated at MAPPA and Tohokushinsha, the series is directed by Atsushi Wakabayashi based on the overall composition by Shou Aikawa and Toshiki Inoue. Takao Yoshioka, Seishi Minakami, Masaki Wachi, Shinichi Inotsume and Shigeru Murakoshi are involved in the scripts for the show. Masao Ebihara is handling the character design adaptation from the original works by Masakazu Katsura.
The series will star Romi Park, Akiko Yajima, Daisuke Namikawa, Tomokazu Seki, Kenyuu Horiuchi in undisclosed character roles.
No premise for the season has been revealed yet other than that it’s set during the Heian period. It’s scheduled to run for two cour.
