‘Attack on Titan’ Manga Bundled Anime Packaging Revealed

2 min read

Attack on Titan Volume 17 HeaderBack in July, Kodansha Comics announced that the 17th volume of Attack on Titan will come in both a regular and limited edition version when it lands on December 1st, 2015. We haven’t heard too much about it since, but with New York Comic Con coming up this week it’s expected that we’ll hear more, especially as there’s supposedly a big announcement for the property as a whole. Ahead of that, the limited edition packaging for the release has come out, giving fans a look at what to expect.

The release will have a bundled anime episode on DVD with the Ilse’s Notebook OVA that was released in the same way in Japan back with the 11th volume of the series in 2013. The release will be done with English subtitles only and not dubbed and so far doesn’t seem to be in association with FUNimation.

The story is one of the side stories that deals with one of the survey corps members. It was directed by Tetsuro Araki based on the script by Yasuko Kobayashi and character designs by Kyoji Asano. Similar to the main TV series, it was animated by Wit Studio as well as it basically brought everyone back for more.

  1. Ugh, DVD. What are the chances of special episodes like this eventually getting a BD release down the line. Really hoping for one of No Regrets. Would be a shame if stayed DVD only.
