Sentai Filmworks Sets December 2015 Anime DVD/BD Release Slate

7 min read

Rail Wars Episode 1 Image 4Sentai Filmworks has laid out their December 2015 plans and after a few months where there’s been a lot of releases this one may feel a little light. First, the company has their next Sentai Selects release with Lunar Legend Tsukihime, which was released previously on DVD only and gets the same treatment here. It does get a low price of $29.99 and puts the show back into circulation once again. The company announced a pair of movies recently with AURA and Hayate the Combat Butler and those go about as expected as they both get separate DVD nad BD releases but AURA gets a bilingual presentation. Part of me hoped that they’d take the chance with the Hayate movie since it’s self contained.

Chaika – The Coffin Princess gets its first season released in bilingual form on both DVD and BD as expected while Rail Wars makes its debut on DVD only and in Japanese only. The lack of a BD release is due to licensor holdback as they can’t produce one for a good bit of time until after it’s fully settled in Japan. We also get a new collection with Majestic Prince arriving.

 1. I don’t know where I got that from then…but that seems weird because I thought Rail Wars was more popular than Chaika. Now I’m back to being disappointed with Sentai.

 2. Rail Wars! is the only definite title for me from this list. It’s a fun show & one that I’m looking forward to owning when Sentai releases it in December.
