Kenji Nojima Boards ‘Himouto! Umaru-chan’ Anime Adaptation

Himouto Umaru-Chan AnnouncementThe upcoming anime series Himouto! Umaru-chan upped the stakes this time last week when the first promotional video arrived for it and now a little more clarification has come in. Casting in general was recently revealed and now one of the characters that wasn’t announced with a voice actor has one as Kenji Nojima has boarded the series in the role of Taihei Doma, the brother of the lead character.

The main cast is set to include:

  • Aimi Tanaka as Umaru Doma
  • Yurina Furukawa as Sylphynford Tachibana
  • Haruka Shiraishi as Kirie Motoba
  • Akari Kageyama as Nana Ebina
  • Kenji Nojima as Taihei Doma

The anime adaptation of SankakuHead’s manga series is set for summer 2015 series. The show will be directed by Masahiko Ohta based on the scripts by Takashi Aoshima along with character designs by Aya Takano and that it’ll be done at Dogakoba. Ohta, Aoshima and sound director Yasunori Ebina all worked together on Yuruyuri and a few of them on Kotoura-san.

The news comes as the fifth volume of the series arrived recently in Japan. That property has been running since 2013 in Weekly Young Jump. More production details are expected to arrive in upcoming issues of the magazine.

Plot concept: The sibling gag comedy manga centers around Umaru, Taihei’s little sister who boasts beautiful looks as well as prowess in both school and sports; however, “Himouto” (beautiful little sister) has a certain secret.
