30 Day Movie Challenge Day 7: Your Happy Movie

2 min read

Love ActuallyOne of the things missing from the 30 day challenge that I’m doing is that there’s nothing there for the most part about romantic movies. Much to the chagrin of my significant other, I love romance movies. Dramas, comedies and everything in between. There’s just something about them that I enjoy even when they put you through the wringer in a really big way. Even when they go for a gut wringing experience, like The Notebook, I’ll admit they make me happy because it’s about the journey and ups and downs.

While The Notebook is my favorite romantic movie, the one that really makes me happy is Love Actually. I had stumbled across it years ago and fell in love with it because of the cast, the weaving of the stories and the kinds of connections that were made during it. I also had a lot of fun with the sillier moments of it with how some of the various characters live their lives.

The film is one that has become a tradition for me of just a handful of movies that I watch every Christmas season because of its meaning and inspiration.

And hell, I like to believe that Andrew Lincoln ended up so shot down and dejected here that he went to America after that, lost his accent, changed his name and became Rick Grimes in order to survive The Walking Dead.
