While we’ve got a little bit to go until the home video release in Japan, never mind in North America, the theatrical screenings for Black Butler: Book of Murder two part OVA is scheduled for  an October 25th, 2014 and November 15th, 2014 release. The team behind the TV series with A-1 Pictures is producing it and now the first promo from back in September is being followed up with a new TV spot to torment fans just a little bit more. The show is getting a two volume Japanese release from Aniplex Japan on January 28th, 2015 and February 25th, 2015 respectively and it’ll be released on both DVD and Blu-ray. The Blu-ray releases are priced at 7,776 yen while the DVDs are at 6,696 yen. Aniplex Japan is distributing them there and that means there’s no real information on the releases yet in terms of extras or features.

Aniplex USA will not be handling the release for North America though as FUNimation grabbed the rights to those earlier this summer, allowing them to provide continuity with their previous releases and the acquisition of Book of Circus as well.

Plot concept: At the Queen’s behest, young master Ciel Phantomhive hosts a lavish banquet to be attended by the crème-de-la-crème of London’s elite. What begins as a fabulous affair quickly takes a dark turn when guests begin turning up dead! Murder takes center stage in this chilling OVA collection where even a debonair demon butler isn’t safe from a killer on the prowl. Should Sebastian and Ciel wish to once more see the light of day, they must join forces with their guests, including the legendary author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, to unravel the mystery – and apprehend the murderer before it’s too late!
