‘Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun’ Anime Begins Hulu Distribution

Sentai Filmworks picked up a lot of summer shows this season and they’re getting more of them added to Hulu for further digital distribution. The latest one is a series that’s getting high marks here in reviews with Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun. The first episode of the series has gone live on the service with more to come weekly. Those with a  Hulu Plus subscription can watch this show on their TV and mobile devices.

The series, based on the manga by Izumi Tsubaki (creator of Oresama Teacher), is animated by Dogakobo. It’s directed by Mitsue Yamazaki based on scripts and composition by Yoshiko Nakamura and character designs by Junichiro Taniguchi. The original four panel web manga began in the summer of 2011 and is ongoing with four published volumes to date.

Plot concept: Sakura Chiyo is a highschool student who has a crush on a schoolmate named Nozaki-kun. One day, she confessed her love to him but he mistook her as a fan. Things starts to get complicated when Nozaki-kun invites her to come to his house only to find his secret: he is a shōjo manga artist. Sakura then decides to be Nozaki-kun’s assistant in order to get closer to him. She later gets acquintanced with Nozaki’s other assistants who are all no strangers to Sakura. The story revolves around the making of Nozaki’s manga Let’s Love~ and everyday situations happen around the characters.
