With the first thirty-eight episode season set to conclude in a few weeks on June 30th, 2014, TOHO has announced through a new promotional video out today that a second season will be landing this October 2014. The series, coming from the manga by Wataru Watanabe, has caused quite a little stir in Japan as the bikes in the show are flying off the racks there and there’s an increased cycling fad working through the major metropolitan areas with this series cited as one of the influences of it. Plot concept: Onoda Sakamichi is a rather timid, anime-loving first-year student at Sohoku High School. Upon entering high school, he tried to join the anime research club, but after meeting Imaizumi Shunsuke, a renowned cyclist since middle school, and Naruko Shoukichi, who swept the Kansai cycling championship, he ended up joining the competitive cycling club.
