After letting loose with the trailer earlier today, FUNimation has hit up their Tumblr blog (rather than their official site blog) with the dub cast for the series Aquarion Evol. The sequel series to Aquarion is set quite a few years in the future from what we had before but seemingly manages to bring back quite a few of the actors from the previous dub in order to voice roles here. The series is being directed by Christopher Bevins with Kenneth Thompson serving as ADR engineer.

CHARACTER – ACTOR
AMATA – Christopher Bevins
MIKONO – Brina Palencia
DONAR – Justin Cook
SUOMI – Colleen Clinkenbeard
MIX – Alexis Tipton

CAYENNE – Jason Liebrecht
ZESSICA – Caitlin Glass
KAGURA – Taliesin Jaffe
ZEN – Brandon Potter
IZUMO – Mike McFarland

SHUSH – Monica Rial

Additional cast members were later added by Bevins himself on Twitter:

Mykage: J. Michael Tatum
Jin: Todd Haberkorn
Yunoha: Luci Christian
Crea: Carrie Savage
Schrade: Eric Vale

Plot concept: After accidentally forming the legendary mecha “Aquarion,” Amata finds himself at a pilot-training academy where the flirty girls love to get a rise out of him, and the boys seem more interested in exploring mysterious holes and big bangs than harnessing their Elemental superpowers. It’s all awkward dates, hijinks, and threesomes until otherworldly beings start abducting powerful female students. As a mysterious megalomaniac plots interplanetary disaster, the fate of the galaxy depends on whether or not the hormone-fueled academy coeds can come together to fight evil.

Set 12,000 years after the events of Aquarion, this series from the studio behind Fairy Tail and Macross builds on the mythos of the original while introducing a new group of lovers and fighters all heading toward one epic climax.
