Word has come down via Right Stuf that Sentai Filmworks is doing a recall of tomorrow’s release of Kids on the Slope Blu-ray due to the 11th episode being in mono. This issue was brought up previously with some of the early copies that got out and Sentai’s opting to halt the release and fix the issue. The folks at Right Stuf has done a hold on all their inventory and will be providing a form for those that got copies early with how to deal with the issue in the next few days.

Sentai Filmworks has issued a recall for the Kids on a Slope Blu-ray Complete Collection that was schedule for release on May 7, 2013. (Episode 11 features only mono audio on the Japanese language track.) We have currently put a hold on our inventory while this issue is being resolved. However, a number of the Kids on Slope Blu-ray sets have already been shipped out to customers before we were notified of the issue. If you have purchased this item from our store and already received it, a form will be made available in the next couple of days with instruction on how to return the disc. When available we will ship out copies of the corrected disc.

Plot concept: It’s the summer of 1966 and high school freshman Kaoru Nishimi is struggling to adjust to the latest of many moves in his young life, this time to his uncle’s home in the seaside town of Kyushu. It’s never easy adjusting and it’s never easy fitting in, but this time will be different. This time he’ll meet friends who will change his life forever, and he’ll discover a new passion, one that grabs his heart and rocks him to his very soul. It’s music. A beat. A whole new way of looking at life. It’s called jazz, and together with bad boy Sentaro and music store girl Ritsuko, they’re going to follow their muse to wherever their music takes them!
