Keanu Reeves Talks ‘Bill & Ted 3’

2 min read

If there’s a movie that has managed to resonate with me over the years despite how completely goofy it is, it’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. I’m still not convinced there was a sequel, but work is progressing slowly but surely on a third installment of the two most excellent young men that would change the world forever with their music.  Collider is reporting on an MTV News item that the new film will be based off of the events in that (shudder) sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. Keanu Reeves has been keen on the project for awhile now, much to the disbelief of many, and he expects a script in just a few weeks:

“When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened.  So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.”

If there’s a soundtrack that I still listen to years and years after the movie, the original installment is the one. Let’s hope for more excellent material with a third installment. Still, it won’t be the same without George Carlin.
