It’s time to clear the docket.
Who could possibly be responsible for this game? That question swirls among the participants, who grow more desperate as they are forced to make one horrific choice after another. The game is to conclude when the requisite four survivors have been determined. For these four fortunates, court will be adjourned…but what awaits them on the other side of the courthouse doors?

By some miracle, Hiro survived his life and death battle with the guy brandishing a gun. It was dumb luck really, but Hiro will take it with the hope of getting past just one more Judgement. I’m not convinced, but the game master claims that when there are only 4 survivors left, they will all be allowed to leave alive. But what of the people in the other Judgement game that they can see in the television monitors?
Hiro and the others don’t have time to worry about the other Judgement game, they have to decide who among them will be the last to die. Should have been a difficult decision; that is until they learn that Miku was hoarding food from everyone. Then she smashes a cell phone with clues and runs away from everyone. That still isn’t enough for Hiro to sell her out. But then she admits that she voted for him in the last Judgement!
That would be enough for me to vote Miku off the island. But not Hiro, he goes and votes for another girl so that the Judgement is a tie. Well, that was stupid, now the two girls have to fight to the death. I mean really, what the hell was Hiro thinking?
Once one of the girls is dead, another door opens. Is it the door to the outside and freedom like the game master keeps promising?
In Summary:
Hiro hasn’t done himself any favors trying to be the voice of reason and hoping to find a way for everyone to survive. Instead, he has made himself a target not only to the opposing group, but even some within his own group. Even worse, the girl that voted against him is the same one he has been protecting. Stressful situations make people do crazy things, and since Hiro could rat out the girl, she votes against him in hopes of him dying and her secret with him.
This series continues to be highly entertaining, and at only six volumes, it is nice little investment in time and funds. The way the characters react to their situation is also believable, making the story that much better. Give the first volume a chance, I recommend it for fans looking for some entertaining seinen.
