We often see a lot of two season shows being split up with a season between them to give the production plenty of time to get everything done, but it’s always welcome when we get the second season right away. Spring 2014 series Captain Earth is doing just that as the second season is landing in July and Avex has put together a quick TV spot to promote it, with a nod towards the music of course with Nico Touches The Walls song Tokyo Dreamer. This sci-fi mecha series is directed by Takuya Igarashi (Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, Star Driver ) with series composition by Yuji Enokido (Revolutionary Girl Utena, Ouran High School Host Club), Character design by Satoshi Ishino (Excel Saga, No. 6) and animation production by BONES (RahXephon, Xam’d: Lost Memories).

Sentai Filmworks has picked up the North American rights to the series and it’s streaming on both Crunchyroll and Hulu.

Plot concept: With memories of his father’s inexplicable death haunting him, Daichi follows a mysterious rainbow and travels to Tanegashima Island to investigate. Arriving on the island with mixed emotions, Daichi runs into a boy named Teppei who asks why Daichi has returned to this island. Daichi knows he’s returned there to fulfill a promise. Now, with panic alarms sounding and an unruly force known as the Killtgang quickly approaching to attack, Daichi must suit up for the invasion.
