GJ Club

With a planned May 14th, 2014 release date for the GJ Club spring special on DVD and Blu-ray, the broadcast version of it has now been announced. The special is set to debut on May 5th, 2014 on BS Nittele exclusively for a runtime of 46 minutes. With Crunchyroll having simulcast the previous TV series and the way they’ve picked up a few specials so far this year, there’s a chance it could be shown through them as well. The project has certainly changed from what was potentially billed late last year when more material from the property was announced as it talked about the club doing part of the New York storyline from the manga and felt like it was being primed for a TV series, which could still be coming. The new special is being done with Yoshiyuki Fujiwara directing based on a script by Hideaki Koyasu with Miwa Oshima handling the character designs.

Plot concept: In a very old building within the grounds of a high school, there exists a club shrouded in obscurity. Kyoya Shinomiya is coerced into joining this club, known as GJ-bu (Good Job). Here he meets . . . Based on the popular Japanese light novel, this anime series depicts the nonchalant interactions of Kyoya and the unique female characters in scenes you are sure to enjoy.
