After getting the episode count last week for the newly broadcast version of Dragon Ball Z Kai – Buu that’s going on in Japan and elsewhere, Toei Animation has also announced their home video plans for the release. The show has three box sets lined up for it so far that will be coming out on both DVD and Blu-ray. The DVD releases are slotted to run for 12,096 yen each while the Blu-ray sets are set for 16,416 yen each. The sets are scheduled for September 2nd, 2014, December 2nd, 2014 and March 3rd, 2015 respectively. There are no details on what extras will be included beyond the first set having the clean opening and closing sequences.

The sets will have the following breakdown of episodes:

  • Box 1  – 99 – 110
  • Box 2 – 111 – 122
  • Box 3 – 123 – 134

Plot concept: Majin Buu’s spree of terror continues, and his ruthlessness knows no bounds! In his quest to eliminate the remaining Z-Fighters, Buu has cut a path of destruction across the face of the Earth, leaving a trail of devastation so utterly complete that it may even be beyond the power of the Dragon Balls to repair…

With their efforts to stop Majin Buu quickly proving futile, the Z-Fighters have but one remaining hope against this seemingly invincible foe—the Fusion Technique! But for this desperate plan to succeed, Goku will have to join forces with his oldest rival, Vegeta! Can the combined efforts of these two mighty Saiyan warriors put a stop to Majin Buu once and for all? The final battle for the fate of the universe begins!
