Hanabee is building up their library a bit more recently with the acquisition of the Kyoto Animation series Beyond the Boundary. The company has added the home video rights for this series which debuted in the fall of 2013 and will be releasing it in the future. No dates or formats are announced for it yet as the series is still working through its Japanese release. The property received a limited simulcast run previously from Crunchyroll as it was open only to viewers in North America as it was licensed by Sentai Filmworks for home video release in that territory. The series from Kyoto Animation is directed by Taichi Ishidate and features character designs by Miku Kadowaki with series composition by Jukki Hanada (Campione!) and music by Hikaru Nanase (Hiiro no Kakera ~ The Tamayori Princess Saga).

Plot concept: “There is a girl who is the last surviving member of a ‘certain clan’ and a ‘half-youmu’ boy who shouldn’t exist… This is their story
