While Arrow got a lot of derision from fans when it started because of the naming convention, the tweaks and changes from continuity and its heavy borrowing from Batman Begins, it has definitely found its voice very early on and has helped to re-energize The CW for this current season and future with what kind of offerings it wants to do. Now, with the fifteenth episode of this season coming up tonight, they’ve got a new three minute trailer out for it that sees a a lot of big moments, from Slade wearing the mask fully, the debut of the Suicide Squad and the return of other characters including the Huntress, which should be interesting with Black Canary in the mix.
Suffice to say, there is a lot for fans to get excited about here and the trailer capitalizes on all of it while also tying back to the story on the island from five years prior in moving that to a new position.
If you’re not watching Arrow, you’re missing out.
“This episode is the biggest episode we’ve ever done on the show. It makes the season finale last year look like a student film from the 1980s,” Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim says. “Our incredible stunt department went all out; our equally incredible production design department did an amazing job recreating the entire deck and bridge of the freighter just for this episode.”
“This episode, apart from just being massive, features two iconic moments in the life of our series: it’s the first time Oliver Queen puts on the green hood and it’s the first time that we see Slade Wilson put on the Deathstroke mask,” Guggenheim added. “This is the beginning of the relationship that will define the end of Season Two.”
Stoked for “The Promise” on Arrow tonight. While the island will be the episode, the real fun will be in the present, Oliver vs slade!
