‘Mieruko-chan’ Manga Live-Action Film Debuts New Clip

Fans of the Mieruko-chan manga series from Tomoki Izumi had a pretty solid run for the show with it being adapted back in 2022, and they’ve also had the manga coming out in English at a pretty good pace as well from Yen Press. In October 2024, we learned that a new live-action film is in the works for a summer 2025 release in Japan.

The film has Yoshihiro Nakamura directing it and handling the screenpla,y and we learned recently that it was being set with a June 6th, 2025, premiere date.

With the film just a few days away now, the production has brought out a new clip from it that shows off the strange experiences of the cast at home and school below. The film features the theme song “Ghost” performed by BABYMONSTER.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Nanoka Hara as Miko Yotsuya
  • Rinka Kumada as Hana Yurikawa
  • naenano as Yuria Niguredo
  • Coki-Yamashita as Akio Gondō
  • Saki Takaoka as Tōko Yotsuya, Miko’s mother
  • Kenichi Takitō as Mamoru Yotsuya, Miko’s father
  • Akane Hotta as Ms. Arai, Miko’s homeroom teacher
  • Taiga Kyōmoto as Zen Tohno

The manga from Tomoki Izumi began in 2018 on ComicWalker and has ten volumes released so far. Yen Press picked it up in 2020 and has released nine volumes released.

Plot Concept: One day, Miko suddenly started seeing grotesque beings that others couldn’t. Her response was not to run, not to face them, but to do everything she can to completely ignore them! Can she keep a straight face and continue her day-to-day life while surrounded by horrifying monsters?
