One of a slate of titles announced at Aniplex Online Fest 2022 was an adaptation of the UniteUp! project that began in late 2021 on YouTube. The winter 2023 anime series is getting its home video releases handled through Aniplex Japan. They’ve set a six-volume release schedule for it that begins on April 19th, 2023. All releases are listed as limited editions, with the DVDs priced at 5,800 yen each while the Blu-rays are priced at 6,800 yen each.
The second season of the series landed as part of the winter 2025 season as UniteUp! -Uni:Birth-. That’s getting the same layout as above with six discs and the same pricing, which means you can check out the full schedule and known details below.
With the fourth set coming out in just a couple of weeks, we’ve added on to the artwork for it below. We’ve also added the full packaging spreads for the second and third volumes.
Shinichiro Ushijima is directing it based on the scripts overseen by Rino Yamazaki. Majiro is handling the character designs and serving as the chief animation director with CloverWorks on the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Kikunosuke Toya as Akira Kiyose, Ryōtarō Yamaguchi as Banri Naoe, Amon Hirai as Chihiro Isuzugawa, Magura Sukegawa as Daiki Takao, Shinnosuke Morikage as Eishiro Nijo, Ryūichirō Sakata as Fuga Togo, masa as Gakuto Haruka, Yūki Shimomae as Homare Katsura, Takumi Magoshi as Izumi Kashii, Kōsei Tsubokura as Jun Wakasa, Gaku Takumoto as Kanata Morinomiya, Sōma Saitō as Lin Otsuki, and Yoshiki Nakajima as Maoto Tsujido.

Plot Concept: The show revolves around Akira Kiyose, who sings on a video streaming site under the singer name “KIKUNOYU.” One day the talent agency sMiLea Production scouts him. sMiLea is an agency founded by the retired legendary idol pair AneLa to train new budding idols. Akira then forms an idol group with Banri Naoe and Chihiro Isuzugawa, who were also scouted. Their new group, Protostar, will have their debut alongside other new idol groups with sMiLea Production: Legit and Jaxx Jaxx.
