‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Actors Talk Rocket Raccoon Relationships

2 min read

Rocket RacoonThough the news that Bradley Cooper would take on the voice work for Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy didn’t generate widespread appeal, there’s a lot of time until things hit and we’re starting to get a bit more about the character. The latest tidbits about him comes from some of the co-stars that interact with him throughout the movie as both Chris Pratty and Michael Rooker got to talk about the character in a couple of separate interviews recently.

Pratt had the most to say in talking about what the character is like and how it’s all going to work:

“[Rocket Raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he’s lonely and he’s angry and it’s like, [there are] all these elements [to the character],” he continued. “You sort of forget about that, you wouldn’t think about, [and] hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that’s why they hired a really good actor to do the role. I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon, it’s a great character. It’s probably the best character in the movie, just because it’s not what you would expect.”

As for how Rocket will get along with Yondu, played by Michael Rooker, he made it pretty clear (and you can hear his voice saying it really clearly) with:

“Rocket and I don’t get along, he’s a bit abrupt and brash for my taste.  I probably have a little Merle in me still, because I would roast him over an open flame and eat him for supper!”
