The folks at P.A. Works and Cygames are coming together for a new original TV anime series with Akiba Maid War. The project rolled out a lot of information about the basics along with a key visual and a promo for it back in June 2022. The show saw an October 6th, 2022 debut set for it with HIDIVE streaming the series as an exclusive part of their fall lineup.

The latest update comes from UK distributor Anime Limited as they’ve revealed they’ve picked up the show for a Blu-ray release there. A collector’s edition will come first but no dates or details have been set yet for it.

The series saw Soichi Masui directing it based on the scripts overseen by Yoshihiro Hiki. Manabu Nii is on board as both character designer and chief animation director with P.A. Works handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Reina Kondo as Nagomi Kazuhira, Rina Satou as Ranko Kazutoshi, Minami Tanaka as Yumechi, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Shiipon, and Ayahi Takagaki as the cafe manager.

The English dub has Jouey Goubeaud as the ADR director working from scripts by Marta Bechtol. The English cast includes Alyssa Marek as Nagomi Wahira, Chaney Moore as Ranko Mannen, Cat Thomas as Yumechi, Christina Kelly as Shiipon, Teresa Zimmerman as Manager, and ??? as Okachimachi.

Plot Concept: In the spring of 1999, bright-eyed Nagomi Wahira moves to Akihabara with dreams of joining a maid café. She quickly dons an apron at café Ton Tokoton, AKA the Oinky Doink Café, but adjusting to life in the big city isn’t easy. Paired with the dour Ranko who never smiles, Nagomi must do her best to elevate the Oinky Doink Café over all other maid cafés vying for top ranking, but she soon discovers not everything is as it seems amid the frills and thrills of the maid cafés of Akihabara…
