
A new original anime project was announced for a January 2024 debut with Pon no Michi. The mahjong series has Tatsuma Minamikawa serving as the writer and director, with OLM handling the animation production. Negi Haruba worked on the original character designs for IIS-P with Kenji Ota adapting them for animation.
DMM Pictures handles the home video releases for it and has set a two-volume release for this twelve-episode series. It’ll be on Blu-ray only priced at 18,000 yen each. The Japanese cast includes Kaori Maeda as Nashiko Jippensha, Iori Saeki as Pai Kawashigashi, Shion Wakayama as Izumi Tokutomi, Yui Kondou as Riche Hayashi, and Hibiku Yamamura as Haneru Emi.
The series features the opening theme song “Ponpopopon” performed by Kana Nakada while halca is on board for the ending theme song with “Good Luck Waker.”
