How to Watch ‘Chained Soldier’: Where to Stream the TV Anime Series

The winter 2024 anime adaptation of the Chained Soldier work is debuting today after seeing the premiere at Anime NYC earlier this fall. Originally set for a 2023 release, it ended up being pushed back into the winter 2024 season last summer.

Where Can You Stream Chained Soldier?

The series starts streaming on HIDIVE starting January 4th, 2023 with one episode. After that, episodes will be uploaded to the service weekly, with Episode 2 coming on January 11th, 2024.

What Is Chained Soldier About?

Two supernatural forces appeared simultaneously on Earth: entrances to another dimension known as Mato, and Peaches, resources that give unique abilities to women. From the Mato come Yomotsu Shuuki, dangerous monsters that leave destruction in their wake. The government’s Anti-demon Corps stands against these creatures, employing women empowered by Peaches to face the monstrous threat. Yuuki Wakura watches these forces clash from a distance, but when he unexpectedly runs afoul of a Yomotsu Shuuki, he’s rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the chief of the Seventh Unit of the Anti-demon Corp—and she sees something in him that could turn the tide of the monster incursion. Yuki holds the unique power to make Peaches more effective, but he’ll have to become Kyoka’s willing slave to join the fight against the Yomotsu Shuuki and save the world.

What Is Chained Soldier Based On?

The series title translates as Slave of the Magic Capital’s Elite Troops and comes from writer Takahiro and artist Yohei Takemura. It began in January 2019 and has nine volumes out as of the end of 2021 as serialized in Shonen Jump+.

Who’s in the Cast of Chained Soldier?

The Japanese cast includes Yuya Hirosei as Yuki, Akari Kito as Kyoka, Tomori Kusunoki as Aoba Wakura, Sayaka Senbongi as Koko Zenibako, Rina Hidaka Naon Yuno, Hina Tachibana as Nei Okawamura, Maaya Uchida as Tenka Izumo, Reina Ueda as Sahara Wakasa, and Nene Hieda as Yachiho Azuma.

Who’s Behind the Chained Soldier TV Series?

The project has Junji Nishimura as the chief director with Goro Kuji directing from the series composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Ryota Kano and Akira Kindaichi are handling the scripts with Hiroyuki Yoshii on character designs. Seven Arcs is handling the animation production.
