‘GJ Club’ Anime Site Teases More News Soon

Is a second season of GJ Club in the offing? There’s certainly a bit of a tease for it on the official site at NTV today as they’ve overlaid the main image with a series of questions marks and a highlight of tweets with the series hashtag. This is following up a tweet from the official feed back on June 25th that indicated that there would be some news in the future. The series, which literally translates to Good Job Club, is based on a light novel series by Shin Araki which ran from 2010 to 2012 and had ten volumes. It then kicked off a new series in the spring of 2012 that’s still ongoing and has five volumes so far. This past winter, it was adapted into anime form by Dogakobo for NTV and ran for twelve episodes (see our review here and here) and was simulcast on Crunchyroll, though nobody as of this writing has picked it up for home video release. The series is one that fits easily into a simple to animate and easy audience to play with the characters hanging around and largely dialogue filled, so a second season certainly wouldn’t be a surprise.

Plot concept: In a very old building within the grounds of a high school, there exists a club shrouded in obscurity. Kyoya Shinomiya is coerced into joining this club, known as GJ-bu (Good Job). Here he meets . . . Based on the popular Japanese light novel, this anime series depicts the nonchalant interactions of Kyoya and the unique female characters in scenes you are sure to enjoy.
