Senyu Episode 16
Senyu Episode 16
Sometimes you have to stab a friend in order to do the right thing.

What They Say:
Long ago, there lived an evil being who reigned over the world through fear, called Satan Rchimedes. He invaded the human world with his many demon underlings, spreading madness and chaos everywhere. One thousand years ago, this menace was sealed by the hero Creation, and peace returned to the world.

Senyu’s approach to comedy continues to tickle me in the right places, especially in the opening segment where in an effort to get into the castle and hide the princess during it, Alba is tricked into becoming a murderer. It’s a bit more complicated than that, but the humor works just right as it unfolds and you have to feel bad for Alba once again. While he’s on the run, Ros and the pint sized demon king continue to deal with the problems of the in-between space and the friend of the former demon king that’s imprisoned there. While this gets nudged forward, we do spend more time with Alba and the gang overall, including a comical bit with Foyfoy that is completely in character. The show plays with its humor well and just the plain weirdness that comes into it makes me grin like an idiot.

In Summary:
There are times where I know and absolutely feel that I shouldn’t be laughing at this show, but it’s just a quick burst of hilarity and weirdness that I can’t help it. This episode slowly nudges things along a bit as we get the princess inside the city at the expense of Alba and Foyfoy and we get some hilarious visuals in the purgatory place with what a young Demon King baby would look like, but mostly it’s just more of the same. The best for me is just hearing Foyfoy go on about how he knows Alba loves being in jail cells and that he should just accept it and spend his time there. These kinds of quick bits are simply priceless.
