Renge tastes one of the tomatoes she helped grow and it’s delicious! The world must know of their deliciousness. That’s why she’s going to spend the day passing out tomatoes to everyone. She’s going to be a Summer Santa! Renge proceeds to walk around town and proudly gives everyone tomatoes that she helped grow. Merry Summer Christmas! Eventually, she’s down to only a few tomatoes. That’s when she randomly finds a crying girl in the middle of a field. She’s lost and doesn’t know how to get back home. Renge gives her a tomato and it calms the girl down. Dang, those tomatoes really must be scrumptious! Renge takes the girl to the police station and it turns out the officer there is her dad. How convenient! Anyway, father and daughter thank Renge. The girl even refers to her as “big sister.” This makes Renge extremely happy. She finishes the day by giving her last tomato to Candy Store. Mission accomplished!
Renge decides to spend her New Year’s allowance at the candy store. What does she buy? A pair of toy handcuffs. Also, they’re pink. Stylish! Renge leaves the store and then comes right back to arrest Candy Store! I don’t know what she did wrong but Renge is clearly an officer. She must have her reasons! Candy Store plays along and allows herself to be handcuffed. That was fun but she needs to get back to work. There’s a problem though. The handcuffs didn’t come with a key. That sounds unfortunate. But that’s okay, she can just break them. They’re toy handcuffs anyway! But…but…Renge spent her New Year’s allowance on them! Is she really going to break them!? Candy Shop doesn’t want to break Renge’s heart so it looks like they’ll have to find another way to get the handcuffs off.
Candy Store can’t figure out how to get the handcuffs off. Natsumi walks into the shop and she doesn’t want her of all people to find out about this. She’ll just laugh at her. Well, Natsumi finds out immediately and she does indeed laugh at her, haha. She then uses this opportunity to tickle the hell out of Candy Store! Natsumi claims that this is payback for all of the injustices she put her through. Candy Store manages to get her in a chokehold and the tickling finally stops. Natsumi finds the release button on the handcuffs and Candy Store is finally free. She then proceeds to have Renge arrest Natsumi. Now she’s handcuffed! Candy Store takes revenge on Natsumi and puts her through tickle hell.
Renge runs into Shiori, the girl she met at the start of the episode. Does she want to play with her? Heck yeah! The girls decide to play police and save the universe from the bad guys. Renge has an idea where they can find a couple of troublemakers. She leads them directly to Natsumi and Hikage, haha. Well, these two are definitely mischievous. The Cosmos Detectives are on the case! The girls decide to play along and Hikage hops onto Natsumi’s shoulders. They’ve combined into the indomitable Totem Pole Alien! Gasp! I guess they were evil all along. Get ’em, Cosmos Detectives! Shiori grabs the hose and points it at the villains. That’s a bit too much for Hikage and she wants to call it quits. Natsumi throws her under the bus and claims to be a Cosmos Detective. Betrayal! Wait, Hikage is also a Cosmos Detective! Renge and Shiori decide to let them off the hook. They can’t attack fellow Cosmos Detectives. Unfortunately, Hikage still ends up getting sprayed by the hose. The episode ends with Renge carrying a sleepy Shiori to bed. She’s acting like a real big sister! Adorable.
In Summary:
It was adorable seeing Renge so happy about being called a big sister. And you know what? I think she’s a great big sister. I’m sure Shiori would agree. It was nice seeing Renge playing with a kid around her age, too. She doesn’t get to do that much. It was also great seeing Candy Store for the first time this season! About dang time. We could always use more Candy Store. Natsumi and Hikage shenanigans are always welcome. This show is truly the dressing of the sun! Er, I mean the blessing of the sun. It never fails to brighten my day, that’s for sure.
