With the popularity of the Uma Musume series back in 2018 it’s no surprise that we’re getting a bit of a spinoff to keep fans attention with. The four-panel manga series Uma Yon revealed an adaptation in the works at the end of 2018 but the latest promo that has just arrived now reveals a July 7th, 2020 premiere.  We also got a new cast key visual to the right.

The staffing side has now been formalized as well with Seiya Miyajima directing it, working the storyboards for it, and serving as chief animation director and character designer. DMM.futureworks and W-Toon Studio are handling the production.

With the main TV series, Tomoaki Oota served as the supportive director with Kei Oikawa as the main director as they work from the scripts by Masafumi Sugiura and Akihiro Ishihara. Yousuke Kashima is serving as character designer and chief animation director.

The Japanese cast includes Azumi Waki as Special Week, Marika Kōno as Silence Suzuka, Machico as Tōkai Teiō, Ayaka Ohashi as Vodka, Chisa Kimura as Daiwa Scarlet, Hitomi Ueda as Gold Ship, Saori Ōnishi as Mejiro McQueen, Yukiyo Fujii as Tazuna Hayakawa, Kōji Okino as Trainer, and Megumi Toyoguchi as Hana Tōjō.

Plot Concept: This is a tale of a world where “horse girls” with glorious names and incredible running abilities live alongside humanity. Horse girl Special Week has moved from the country to the city to attend Tracen Academy. There, she and her classmates compete to win the Twinkle Series and earn the title of “The County’s #1 Horse Girl.”
