2 min read
Another way to stream the series has surfaced.

Demon Lord Dante HeaderDiscotek Media picked up the Demon Lord Dante anime series back in 2016 and after a home video release didn’t do all that much with it. That’s now changing as Midnight Pulp has taken on the single-season series for streaming on their service directly with it in its original Japanese language with English subtitles.

The distributor also has it available via Amazon Prime Video with it available in dubbed form here. Availability is limited to just the US and Canada due to the rights being split ages ago.

Based on the manga from Go Nagai that was published in 1971 for three volumes, the 2002 anime series was animated by Magic Bus and directed by Kenichi Maejima based on the scripts by Shozo Uehara. It ran for thirteen episodes in the fall season. It was previously licensed and released in North America by Geneon Entertainment USA.

The Japanese cast includes Rei Igarashi as Tamiko Utsugi, Rie Ishizuka as Saeko Kodai / Medusa, Sanae Kobayashi as Saori Utsugi, Susumu Chiba as Ryo Utsugi, Takahiro Sakurai as Sosuke Oshiba and Takehiro Koyama as Kosuke Utsugi. The English dub cast includes Beth Ginnett as Saori Utsugi, Jeni Good as Tamiko Utsugi, Jimmy Keegan as Ryo Utsugi, Kaleo Sallas as Demon Lord Dante, Lawrence Darrow as Professor Veil Zebub, Linda Borg as Saeko Kodai/Medusa, Ross Lawrence as Sousuke Oshiba and Scott Burnett as Kousuke Utsugi. The dub was produced by Elastic Media.

Plot conceptRyo Utsugi has been disturbed by nightmares of being attacked by a gigantic, demonic creature with blood dribbling from its teeth. One day, he develops a mysterious power to hear voices and foresee horrifying images of females being killed. At a cottage in the wintry mountains, he hears the same voice… Ryo runs out of the cottage, jumps off a cliff following the voice, and gets transported to the Himalayas in a blink. There, he encounters the monster from his nightmare: Demon Lord Dante, who has been sealed in ice by God for 2000 years.
