MVM Entertainment UK has updated their news page once again this week with a new item as they’ve picked up the release rights for Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari. Both series have been released in North America with strict shipping requirements by Aniplex USA as they’re high priced editions ($190 and $150 respectively). MVM Entertainment UK is set to bring both of them out with a tentative September 2013 release date on both DVD and Blu-ray. The series were released in North America on Blu-ray only.
Bakemonogatari Plot Concept: Thanks to Meme Oshino, high school student Koyomi Araragi is able to remain a human after coming across a female vampire. However, since the incident Koyomi seems to meet girls who have apparition-related issues. Hitagi Senjyogahara doesn’t weigh anything, Suruga Kanbaru’s right arm becomes like that of a monkey’s, and a young girl, Mayoi, cannot find her way home no matter how many times she tries. Koyomi, a “Mr. Nice Guy,” ends up helping each and every girl solve her problem with the help of Meme Oshino.
His “unusual” life starts when Koyomi wakes up in a ruined school building, captured and chained by Hitagi Senjyogahara. She says, “I will protect you, Araragi!” Exactly what is Senjyogahara up to?! With Koyomi’s two younger sisters Karen and Tsukihi (a.k.a the Fire Sisters) now involved, Koyomi once again finds himself tangled with apparitions!
