2 min read
To combat rising attacks by communist terrorists, Japan has created a special security force authorized to use lethal force.

Discotek Media picked up the rights to the Angel Cop property back in 2018 and they’ve released it on Blu-ray already. They’re now looking to expand some of the streaming offerings for it in working with Midnight Pulp to expand its offerings. The six-episode series is now available in its dubbed form for free ad-supported viewing here.

Midnight Pulp previously brought the show to their Amazon Prime Video channel. The film can be watched for free on the service if you have Prime here. Additionally, you can buy the six episodes individually for $1.99 each or you can buy the whole season in HD for $9.99. It’s using the English dub only but with English closed-captions.

The OVAs were released back in 1988 and were written and directed by Ichiro Itano with Nobuteru Yuki handling the character designs. DAST Corporation and Studio 88 handled the animation production.

Plot Concept: To combat rising attacks by communist terrorists, Japan has created a special security force authorized to use lethal force. Angel, the newest member of the force, fights to take down the terrorist group, Red May. Accidentally uncovering ties between Red May and the government, she and the rest of the Special Security Force are targeted for execution by 3 “hunters”, enhanced psychics, working for the government. Together with her cybernetically enhanced partner, Raiden, it is up to Angel to stop them.
