It’s a Valentine’s Day episode y’all! The girls are in class discussing what that is exactly. Megumin says that it’s a holiday from Kazuma’s world where you give chocolate to people you love. Visha loves chocolate and thinks it’d be a waste to give it away. Chocolate is delicious, can’t argue with that. Megumin proclaims that she’s going to give some to Kazuma because he’s only ever gotten some from his mom, haha. Not surprising but still funny! Emilia doesn’t know who to give chocolate to so she’ll give some to Puck. Poor Subaru. Tanya says she’ll give out duty chocolate. She explains it’s chocolate you give to friends or people at work to thank them. In that case, Emilia will make sure to give some duty chocolate to Subaru! Again, poor Subaru.
Elsewhere, Albedo is making chocolate for Ainz-sama! She wholeheartedly approves of Valentine’s Day. She’s going to put all her love into the chocolate. Do you know who’s a love expert? Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti! It just wouldn’t be a Valentine’s Day episode without the apostle of love himself. He’s impressed by Albedo’s overwhelming love. She plans to give Ainz chocolate that is dark, black, and bitter to match his dark nature. And the secret ingredient? Her love! Betelgeuse has never seen anyone with such diligent love before! These two are great together. For some reason, Kazuma was watching them outside the window. He decides to stay away from those weirdos. You know what? You’re also a weirdo, Kazuma.
Darkness, Shalltear, and Rem are discussing who they’re going to give chocolate to. To no one’s surprise, Rem is going to give some to Subaru and Shalltear is going to give some to Ainz. What about Darkness? Will she give some to Kazuma? She wasn’t planning on it. Kazuma is the type of guy who would use magic and soak her in water during a sword fight, expose her naughtiness to the world, and lick his lips afterward. The other girls comment that she’d probably like that. They’re not wrong. Out in the hall, Captain Weiss declares that he wants chocolate. Koening, Grantz, and Neumann try to explain to him that the girls are only going to give chocolate to those they like. He doesn’t get it though. Kazuma walks by and offers him some advice. Weiss should bow and yell out, “Give me choco!” It’ll totally work! Weiss thanks him for the advice and Kazuma walks off snickering. Never change, Kazuma. Weiss sees Darkness, Shalltear, and Rem walking down the hall. He runs up to them and yells, “Give me choco!” The girls are creeped out by this. Although, Darkness welcomes being attacked because she’s Darkness. Rem kicks his butt and the girls leave. Well, Weiss isn’t getting anything. Maybe Tanya will give him some duty chocolate?
Albedo’s chocolate-making is going well! Her chocolate looks…interesting. Sebas enters the room and wonders who Betelgeuse is? He introduces himself and Sebas proceeds to toss him out the window. No trespassers allowed! That’s okay, Betelgeuse accomplished what he wanted. What did he accomplish? We may never know. The credits start to roll and we get a slideshow of what happened on Valentine’s Day. Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness give Kazuma chocolate. He’s so happy that he got some chocolate this Valentine’s Day and skips in the hallway! Cocytus and Demiurge can be seen smiling in the doorway. It’s actually kind of sweet that they’re happy for him. Rem gets Subaru a ridiculously huge chocolate heart but he doesn’t even notice it because Emilia got him a bar of much smaller chocolate! Re:Zero in a nutshell, am I right? Koening, Grantz, and Neumann give chocolate to Beatrice!? Yunyun receives a bunch of chocolate and she deserves every bit of it. Chris also gets a ton of chocolate. Hamsuke gets chocolate from the Death Knight! AHH, THEY SHOWED THAT DISGUSTING ROACH AGAIN. KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE! Ram gives chocolate to Roswaal. Tanya gives out her duty chocolate. Naofumi gives Raphtalia and Filo some chocolate. Not going to lie, I almost forgot they were even in this anime. Lastly, Albedo and the others give Ainz their chocolate. It’s a shame he can’t eat chocolate though, haha.
In Summary:
Is there a better way to get ready for Valentine’s Day than with Isekai Quartet? I didn’t think so. This episode was fun and adorably sweet. Everyone smiling while getting or giving chocolate at the end was really nice. I’m glad that Betelgeuse made an appearance, too! This episode just wouldn’t have felt right without him. DILIGENCE AND LOVE! That being said, I hope you all enjoy your Valentine’s Day! At least don’t spend it alone like me…
