All Might finally makes a cameo in this volume. When All Might is in his shrunken form as Mr. Yagi, he meets with detective Tsukauchi. They have a deep friendship and even trade souvenirs with each other. Tsukauchi is Makoto’s brother, who has been recently in charge of Pop and the Narufest. Tsukauchi feels Pop and friends are crossing the legal line, but Makoto firmly asserts she’s keeping an out for them.

Tsukauchi is investigating an incident in Osaka and with Eraserhead’s help determines it might a relative or former pupil or retired hero O’clock. Meanwhile, Crawler is finding new ways to use his quirk and doing his best to finetune them. He continues to go out patrolling even though Master is gone, and Pop seems too busy with homework. When a big villain comes along, it’s too big for Crawler to handle. However, when he runs into Eraserhead, Crawler tries to make a quick exit. Unfortunately, the villain is too much for Eraserhead to handle and Crawler jumps in any way and helps out even though he shouldn’t. The person of interest in the Osaka event is connected with the big villain that Crawler and Eraserhead captured and eventually got away from them. By the time that Crawler tracks the villain down, it’s totally beaten up and the person of interest is gone.

Somehow Koichi is invited to a mixer, and Pop follows him. Midnight sees Pop and helps her investigate by going undercover as one of the girls in the mixer, and Pop is helping Midnight investigate too. A different girl, Rin, at the mixer sets her sights on Koichi after he kindly helped her when she fell and vomited. Pop isn’t too keen on this girl making a move on Koichi and Midnight is just happy to drink and let the love flow. The other girl, Hina, is angry with Koichi for paying so much attention to her Rin, so she puts a new form of Trigger into the drinks trying to get back at Koichi, but instead, other people at the mixer start drinking the drinks. Midnight helps clean up the mess and they get a bit more intel on the bigger picture.

In Summary:
I think I have to say I’m really getting invested in the story, and may I dare say, I might actually like it more than the main story manga? Don’t get me wrong, I love the main story, but there’s something gritty about this side series that I really enjoy. It’s like the opposite side of the coin from the main story, which is filled with young kids and lofty dreams, and this is the reality of villains on the streets, drugs, and crime. With so many characters from the main series in this storyline, it’s almost like you’re seeing the “real” side of hero work. I feel if you like crime shows, but mixed a healthy dose of superheroes, you’d get this. It’s good. Read it.
