There’s a slew of anime episodes out there for the Ace of the Diamond that has thrilled sports anime fans for years now. Crunchyroll has now trained their sites on this series to slowly bring out the various opening and closing sequences, which featured some really great pieces. The next thing up is the fifth opening song “Sora ga Aozora de Aru Tame ni” by GLAY and the fifth ending theme song “PROMISED FIELD” by Seidō High School Baseball Team.

The manga comes from writer/artist Yuji Terajima who began the work back in 2006 in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The anime adaptation is produced by Madhouse and Production I.G.

Series concept: I want to pitch to that mitt again… A meeting with catcher Kazuya Miyuki changed the 15-year-old Eijun Sawamura’s life. He said goodbye to all his friends and knocked upon the door of Seidou, a prestigious baseball school, intent on testing his own strength. There, he met many proud baseball players who were betting everything on the sport! A classic tale, yet new and fresh. All the emotion and excitement of the popular baseball manga is at last coming to television in the form of an anime!
