Andy Serkis Boards The ‘Venom’ Sequel

More Venom in your future!

The 2018 film for Venom from Sony Pictures was pretty derided online as not being something that was needed, especially with fans craving continuity with all the projects that Marvel has, but it landed in the fall on a $100 million budget and took in $856 million worldwide to make it a smashing success. A sequel was a given and talked about early on and now with a few directors interested in getting on board with it as Ruben Flesiher wasn’t returning, Andy Serkis has now taken the job formally.

The first film stars Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, and Michelle Williams.

Kelly Marcel was one of the screenwriters on the first film and is working on the sequel script. It’s expected that it’ll focus on Woody Harrelson as the opponent from his brief appearance in the first.

The film is tentatively scheduled for October 2nd, 2020.
