While the ratings may not be what they once were, The Walking Dead still brings in a lot of viewers for AMC and I’ve found the last season and this season of Fear the Walking Dead to be a strong departure from the mothership show as it finally charts its own course. AMC has some TV films in the works for Andrew Lincoln and his character but they’ve also got another unnamed spinoff series in the works.
That’s now taken another step toward reality with its leads cast. Set for a 2020 premiere, the show looks to be headlined by Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, and Hal Cumpston.
The new spinoff has Matt Negrete running it after being a writer/producer on the mothership series for the past five years. It’s set for a ten-episode run with Scott M. Gimple listed as co-creator.
Plot Concept: The new spinoff will feature two young female protagonists and will focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it.
