‘Avengers: Endgame’ Getting Re-release With Additional Footage

2 min read

The return of Avengers: Endgame in theaters may sound a little odd as the film is still in theaters, though it’s at a reduced screen number compared to when it launched for obvious reasons. But you can’t really blame Marvel for this as the film is just $40 million away from breaking the worldwide record by Avatar. That’s it, just $40 million. While it might eke it out a little bit by the time it wraps up full, Marvel Studios is instead bringing out a “new version” of the film that now has some additional details. Set for a June 28th, 2019 arrival, it’ll come with seven minutes of new footage and will include a tribute to Stan Lee. I’m surprised that it didn’t use the tribute logo from Captain Marvel, to be honest.

All of this will easily get it to cross the number it needs to take the top spot and then some, securing the film a pretty solid position that’ll be hard to top for some time to come.

Check out our review of Avengers: Infinity War.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier, Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Benicio del Toro as Taneleer Tivan / The Collector, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Josh Brolin as Thanos.

Plot concept: After the events of Captain America: Civil War, the Avengers remain fractured into two separate factions. However, nothing could prepare both sides for the biggest threat they’ve ever faced: the mad-titan Thanos who will stop at nothing to claim the Infinity Stones and subjugate the universe.
