The Star Trek: Picard series got a small bit of attention during the recent CBS upfronts for the fall 2019 season but there wasn’t much to latch onto. It’ll likely feel the same for some in viewing the first teaser for the show depending on how you like your intro to a new series as it goes for a kind of lightly thoughtful piece that touches on the past with sacrifices. The show will be on the CBS All Access app in the US while Amazon Prime Video will bring it to 200+ countries when it launches. Check out the title load below and the one image that seems to have surfaced from the upfront.

That has them joining series lead Patrick Stewart along with Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, and Isa Briones.

The first two episodes are being directed by Hanelle Culpepper.

“With overwhelming joy, it’s a privilege to welcome Sir Patrick Stewart back to the Star Trek fold,” Kurtzman said last summer. “For over 20 years, fans have hoped for the return of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and that day is finally here. We can’t wait to forge new ground, surprise people, and honor generations both new and old.”

“I will always be very proud to have been a part of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but when we wrapped that final movie in the spring of 2002, I truly felt my time with Star Trek had run its natural course,” Stewart said in August 2018. “It is, therefore, an unexpected but delightful surprise to find myself excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him. Seeking out new life for him, when I thought that life was over.”

Now, hopefully they can find a way to bring in some of the Deep Space Nine actors, since that was my favorite show, and provide a little more look at that part of the galaxy too.
