AfterShock Comics Announces ‘Oberon’ Series

2 min read

AfterShock Comics is getting ready for another project with writer Ryan Parrott as they’ve announced the new series Oberon. The book has him working with artist Milos Slavkovic which will debut on February 6th, 2019. The standard-length book will also have a variant cover by Marco Rudy that you can see below with some preview pages of the project.

“If you look at some hallmarks of popular fantasy — Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, for example — it’s traditional for a guide to sorta lead naive characters (and the audience) through new magical worlds, explain the rules and give insight,” said Ryan Parrott. “Well,  I personally love villains. I can’t get enough of characters that are gleefully self-serving, so I thought — what if the guide that was leading you was completely unreliable and serving their own devious motives? How would you even know? That’s the black little heart at the center of “Oberon.”

Parrott is currently working through the Volition book for AfterShock.

Plot Concept: Betrayed by his people and exiled to Earth, Lord Oberon, the former king of the fairies, seeks out an innocent prophesied child in order to manipulate her into becoming his ultimate weapon so that he can reclaim his rightful throne.
