AnimeLab Adds ‘Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai’ Anime

The fall 2018 anime adaptation of the Seishun Buta Yarō is getting its distribution handled another streaming service as AnimeLab will be streaming the show as Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. The series debuted on October 3rd, 2018 debut where episodes will arrive every Wednesday going forward. Soichi Masui directed the show based on the series composition by Masahiro Yokotani. Satomi Tamura adapted the character and served as the chief animation director with Akira Takata. Animation production was done by CloverWorks.

The Japanese cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa, Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima, Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa, Nao Tōyama as Tomoe Koga, Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba, Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama, Inori Minase as Shōko Makinohara, Yūma Uchida as Yūma Kunimi, Himika Akaneya as Saki Kamisato, and Satomi Satou as Fumika Nanjō.

The light novels began in April 2014 with seven volumes out so far. A manga by Tsugumi Nanamiya kicked off in 2016 which has one volume published so far.

Plot Concept: The focus is on a rumor about a mysterious phenomenon call “puberty syndrome.” For example, Sakuta Azusagawa is a high school student who suddenly sees a bunny girl appear in front of him. The girl is actually a girl named Mai Sakurajima, who is Sakuta’s upperclassman who is also a famous actress who has gone on hiatus from the entertainment industry. For some reason, the people around Mai cannot see her bunny-girl figure. Sakuta sets out to solve this mystery, and has he spends time with Mai, he learns her secret feelings. Other heroines who have “puberty syndrome” start to appear in front of Sakuta.
