‘ExpandaBelles’ Gets Writers

2 min read

I missed this even being in the works the first time around, bit it’s no surprise that when there’s money to be found, Hollywood will dig hard and deep for it. After the success of The Expendables and its sequel, Millennium Films is set to get a spinoff in motion for it with ExpendaBelles. The focus, obviously, is on a female mercenary team made up of some of the solid actresses over the years who have gone the action route. It’s not quite as deep a pool of talent as the male side since the 80’s wasn’t filled with women taking on these roles, but there’s some excellent opportunities out there to bring in people from Sigourney Weaver to Lucy Lawless and Linda Hamilton along with some of the newer talent to do something like this.

The project is slowly moving forward as now the writers behind Legally Blonde have been brought in to put a script toget as Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith are on the job. Nothing’s been sent or offered to any of the acting talent at this point, but you do have to wonder whether they’d view it as a good thing, bad thing or something that audiences would view as a joke or parody film.
