International ‘Skyfall’ Trailer Debuts

2 min read

With James Bond having made a debut during the opening ceremony of the Olympics, it’s only natural to further extend that with an international trailer that’ll be getting some good worldwide play as well. Bond films typically do better overseas than in the United States for a variety of reasons, so getting out in front of the Olympics like that did made a whole lot of sense. While many Hollywood films play better overseas than in the US compared to how it used to be, something like this where it’s very international in setting, character and design fits it even better. Skyfall is the third Bond feature with Daniel Craig in the lead, following the “disappointing” Quantum of Solace that made just under $600 million in theaters on its $200 million budget. Skyfall, with a budget of $150 million, is being directed by Sam Mendes who came to notice in 1999 with American Beauty and wen on to makes Jarheard and Revolutionary Road.

Plot Concept: M becomes the subject of a government review when MI6’s active case roster is leaked, compromising the identities of every single undercover operative the agency has placed in terrorist networks around the world. When the agency itself is attacked, it falls to James Bond to seek out and eliminate the threat regardless of the cost to himself — but as he follows a trail from Istanbul to the South China Sea, Bond soon finds his loyalty to M challenged over secrets from her past.
