Michelle Pfeiffer Boards ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’

2 min read

Ant-Man and the WaspWith the 2015 film Ant-Man having done $519 million on its $130 million budget and found himself not only showing up well for Captain America: Civil War and some time planned for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War time as well, Ant-Man and the Wasp got some decent attention during SDCC – though no trailer released to the public. With some footage shown during it, however, we got the new casting reveal that Michelle Pfeiffer has joined in the role of Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp.

Pfeiffer certainly had one of the biggest comics to film roles previously as Catwoman in Batman Returns in the 90’s which helped to relaunch the character in a big way. The panel for this film gave fans there some fun in seeing how what’s been going on to date being explained to her since her expected return to the normal world and apparently a look at the new logo for the film was revealed as well. There was also a shot that showed Michael Douglas in an updated suit in all white in the present day period, which one imagines will look great in contrast to what Ant-Man’s red is like and the yellow of the Wasp that’s being done.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is scheduled for a July 6th, 2018 release and currently has Paul Rudd set to star alongside Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Walter Goggins, Randall Park and Michael Douglas. Peyton Reed is returning to direct.
