miss-kobayashi-header-12-29With a January 11th, 2017 debut ahead of it, Kyoto Animation has rolled out a new promotional trailer for Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. This one works pretty well as it clocks in at two minutes and showcases the humor and designs from the show as well as a taste of the ending theme song from the four main actresses. The work comes from Coolkyoushinja with four volumes to its name so far. The series has set Yasuhiro Takemoto to direct it based on the series composition from Yuka Yamada and character designs by Miku Kadowaki.

The previously announced Japanese cast includes:

  • Mutsumi Tamura as Kobayashi
  • Yūki Kuwahara as Tohru
  • Maria Naganawa as Kanna
  • Yūki Takada as Eruma
  • Minami Takahashi as Rukoa
  • Emiri Katou as Riko Saikawa
  • Yuuko Gotou as Georgie Saikawa
  • Kaori Ishihara as Magatsuchi Shouta

The opening theme “Aozora no Rhapsody” will be performed by fhána while the group Choro-gonzu, which is made up of the voice actresses from the show, will perform the ending theme “Ishukan Communication.”

Seven Seas picked up the rights to the series back in December 2015 and just released the first volume this fall.

Plot concept: Miss Kobayashi is your average office worker who lives a boring life, alone in her small apartment–until she saves the life of a female dragon in distress. The dragon, named Tohru, has the ability to magically transform into an adorable human girl (albeit with horns and a long tail!), who will do anything to pay off her debt of gratitude, whether Miss Kobayashi likes it or not. With a very persistent and amorous dragon as a roommate, nothing comes easy, and Miss Kobayashi’s normal life is about to go off the deep end!
