2 min read

comet-luciferWith the Japanese release of Comet Lucifer having wrapped up its release in June, German distributor KSM Anime announced their pickup of the license for their territory. The first volume is just about to hits its planned December 5th, 2016 release date and now KSM Anime has dropped the first extended trailer for the show that gives us our first taste of the German language dub for it. The opening set will have the first six episodes of the series and will be released in separate DVD and Blu-ray editions. Amusingly, it’s listed as having both German and English language tracks along with German subtitles, but it’s expected that the English listing is actually the Japanese language track.

Sentai Filmworks has picked up the North America rights for this Bandai Visual series while Anime Limited has it in the UK and Hanabee for Australia. It originally aired in the fall 2015 season for twelve episodes.

The original series is directed by Yasuhiyo Kikuchi based off of the script and composition by Yuuichi Nomura, who came up with the overall plan for the show. Atsushi Nakayama served as the series director while Yuuichi Takahashi worked on the character design and chief animation director duties. The series was animated at studio 8bit.

The Japanese Cast includes Yuusuke Kobayashi as Sougo Amagi, Ayaka Ohashi as Felia, Rie Takahashi as Kaon Lanchester, Takuma Terashima as Roman Valov, Ayaka Suwa as Otto Motou and Inori Minase as Mo Litica Tzetzes Ura.

The German cast includes Benjamin Stolz as Sougo Amagi, Merete Brettschneider as Felia, Philipp Baltus as Gus Stewart, Daniela Reidies as Malvina Aniance, Flemming Stein as Patrick Yang, Kerstin Draeger as Lillian Anatolia, Marek Erhardt as Jude Pryce, Oliver Böttcher as Roman Valov, Rasmus Borowski as Alfried McCallan, Saskia Weckler as Otto Motou, Tanja Dohse as Kaon Lanchester, Tim Grobe as Hajime do Mon, Winnie Brandes as Mo Litica Tzetzes Ura and Wolf Frass as Garf Zoneboyle.

Plot concept: Gift, a world covered in glittering blue crystals called gifdium. Sougo Amagi is a boy who lives in the town of Garden Indigo, which has prospered from the mining of these crystals. Sougo, whose hobby is collecting rare crystals, one day becomes involved in a dispute between classmates Kaon, Roman, and Otto. He wanders deep into the ruins of a mine and discovers an underground lake. There, Sougo meets a mysterious girl with blue hair and red eyes. Who is this girl, and what will their meeting bring? The door to an adventure opens with their newly formed bond.
