Funimation Streams First Two ‘Heavy Object’ Dubbed Anime Episodes For Free

2 min read

Heavy Object Collection 1 CoverWith Funimation bringing out the first half of the Heavy Object anime series on DVD/BD on November 29th, 2016, they’re now getting fans a bit more interested in it with a free listen of the first two episodes in dubbed form. Funimation’s reconfigured their site recently to focus mostly just on their dub side and this Broadcast Dub series ran previously, so making the two episodes available provides for a good sample of the show itself as well as the dub.

Directed by Christopher Bevins, the series stars Justin Briner as Qwenthur, Micah Solusod as Havia, Alexis Tipton as Milinda, Morgan Garrett as Frolaytia and Wendy Powell as Ayami.

Heavy Object is directed by Takashi Watanabe with Chikara Sakura serving as the assistant director and Hiroyuki Yoshino handling the series composition. Character designs are being done by Atsuko Watanabe with animation produced at JC Staff.

The original work began in 2009 and has had eleven volumes published so far. A brief manga run was done back in 2009 that ran for two years and then a second manga adaptation kicked off in 2011 that also ran for two years. Unsurprisingly, a new manga adaptation is in the works.

The Japanese cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Quenser, Kaito Ishikawa as Heivia, Shizuka Itou as Major Floretia Capistrano and Eri Suzuki as Milinda.

The opening song for the series is One More Chance!! by ALL OFF, which gets English subtitles with it, while the end closing thing Dear Brave by Kano doesn’t have them due to music rights issues.

Plot concept: Quenser came to the Alaskan military base to study Objects, the new weapons that have completely revolutionized war as we know it—battles are fought by soldiers controlling Objects far away from harm; however, when he starts to get close to Object pilot Milinda, will he discover the grim truth behind Heavy Objects?
