After CBS made fifteen renewals earlier this week, it looks like NBC may start sliding out a few early renewals as well. The first bit of news comes in the form of Grimm getting a second season pickup. This has been a difficult first season for the show as it was slotted with a late start, a Friday night slot and several pre-emptions along the way. NBC did try to boost its ratings though, which generally are on the increase, by giving it some Thursday night 10pm positioning with reruns when their planned series for that slot kept falling through, but it never seemed like the right fit. The series is up against a lot of likeminded competition on Friday’s between Supernatural and Fringe but has managed to be the little show that could – if given an uninterrupted run for awhile.
