‘Trigun’ Anime Begins Hulu Distribution

2 min read

Trigun Hulu HeaderAfter being on the Hulu service and then removed, Trigun is now back thanks to Funimation with the full twenty-six episode series now streaming in both Japanese and English. The show was directed by Satoshi Nishimura based on the series composition from Shigure Kitayama and was animated by Madhouse. It originally aired way too long ago as it was a spring and summer 1998 series. Funimation has the North American rights for the show while Madman has it in Australia and MVM Entertainment in the UK. Hulu’s streaming is for the US only unfortunately.

The show is based on the manga by Yasuhiro Nightow that ran for three volumes in its first run back in 1995 and then for fourteen volumes in its Trigun Maximum book that shifted from Monthly Shonen Captain to Young King OURs magazine. That completed in 2007. A theatrical movie called Trigun: Badland Rumble landed in 2010, which Funimation also licensed.

Plot concept: Trigun: On a desert planet, Vash the Stampede is a wanted gunslinger. He’s known for turning towns into rubble, but he’s definitely not your typical outlaw. In fact, he’s more doofus than desperado, and there’s a lot more to Vash than his reputation lets on.
