With the first half of the Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons collection set to arrive on June 21st, 2016, the details of the production are starting to come out. With the series getting a bilingual run, it’s now been revealed that Chris Ayres is serving as the ADR director for the series. Ayres has directed a number of dubs over the years for SEntai Filmworks including the recent Hanayamata series and Black Bullet.

The series was directed by Yoshiharu Ashino with Tatsuto Higuchi handling the scripts. Yuusuke Matsuo came up with the character concepts while Sayaka Ono has handled the action design. Sunrise is, of course, the animation production side of this series.

Plot concept: Leveraging the advancement in technology – called “Mana”, humanity has been able to eliminate all wars, starvation, pollution, and other problems on Earth by using its power. Earth has become a peaceful utopia free of material needs.

CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon focuses on the first princess of the Empire of Misurugi, Angelise. She is the celebrated ruler of the Empire until one day she finds out the shocking truth that she is a “Norma” – an irregular being who cannot use “Mana”, and are treated as “things” rather than people. Having her name taken from her, Ange isolates herself on a remote island. There, she finds a group of Norma women who spend their days hunting dragons that have come to invade.
